Clyde Street

Glasgow, Glasgow

This tower is located on the River Clyde, not far from Buchanan Street and the evocative Enoch Centre, in the heart of Glasgow.

A 19-storey brooding student residential scheme was consented, which was eventually converted to become a hotel. Virgin Hotels were confirmed as the operator as part of their UK and European expansion programme.

The design features bronze cladding panels and corner windows to a series of setbacks that evokes a Ney York Art Deco style of tower. High Quality amenity spaces were created on the ground floor, which almost fully occupies the site curtilage.

At first floor, the building takes a ‘c’ shape form to maximise façade and thus – natural daylight. This also creates a more elegant profile which is emphasised using corner windows shape cladded detailing.

Works were completed on-site in 2023.
